Origin Story
“We are not physical beings having a spiritual experience, but spiritual beings having a physical experience.” A very wise friend…
Matter and energy are neither created nor destroyed, but transformed one from another in an endless cycle of renewal. Is renewal the only purpose or is there more?
So many times have we been reborn in matter, transformed and and anchored to a place and time. Each birth a life forgotten and a love lost. Yet, each new beginning an awakening and renewal. A small step toward bridging the gap.
In the beginning was the word….
Which beginning was this? There have been so many. In each rebirth, the pain of separation and struggle begins again. Why do we not learn that separation is pain and death. Why do we strive alone instead of knitting together a greater whole? We are in truth co-creators of a consensual reality. But what is our purpose, which master do we serve? If we serve ourselves alone, we bring chaos instead of order, destruction instead of creation, pain instead of love.
Why does God need us and why do we need them? Why do our choices matter so much that infinitely powerful supernatural beings seek to sway our choices?
The God of this age is the supplicant of the last. Each creator is the sum of all the joys and sorrows of every living being that ever existed before. Like Athena born from the mind of Zeus, we are conceived in the last desperate attempt to reach across the barrier of non-existence. Yet each time we fail to maintain unity and become scattered to the far corners, left to the despair of isolation as we begin to migrate ever so slowly back together again.
Our soul stuff is eternal and immeasurable, but lacks form and purpose. Without the physical anchor we drift in aimless contemplation. Is the separation of existence a curse to be overcome? Is it a necessary renewal that pushes us to grow beyond our perceived boundaries and burdens.
Good and evil, chaos and order, are locked in an endless dance. We must choose of our own free will whom to serve. Our creator has given us form and substance, requiring that we serve without knowledge or understanding of our history. Why must we be blind and deaf to the larger struggle? Would we be discourage if we knew the full risk of failure? Would we overthrow our masters if we understood the struggles? Should we trust the messenger or seek our own destiny? Which master serves the greater good?
As we each pull apart towards a unique self and sense of personal power, we divide the whole into meaningless parts. The division is our downfall. Only the choice of unity of all selves could ever let us reach full maturity and transform the endless cycle of matter into a cocoon of endless possibilities.
Yet, there is corruption and deception that pulls at us and seeks to betray any sense of purpose. Why? Does the one who gathers the most souls become the creator of the next age? How would meaningless pleasure serve anything? Yet, that is clearly the seed of all temptation. To enjoy and stimulate the self at the expense of all others.
Why do the son’s of God desire the daughters of men? Why does the immaterial and immortal bother with us? How do we play into the larger struggle? Are we pawns in a game of power? Why do we matter at all? Are we lost in a spiral of fear and delusion, wishing we were gods?
This world is full of illusion and deception. So many different forces at work in our lives. The material world is the shadow, yet we take it for real and scoff at the larger forces that offer true meaning and purpose. Matter is death. Love is transcendence. We each have a choice. If we choose matter we embrace meaningless nothingness at the end of our journey, as matter inevitably ends in stasis in the heat death of the physical universe. If we choose love and compassion we take small but significant steps to unification of identity and purpose that transcend and transform beyond matter.
As each age ends, the joy and wonder of discovery begins to fade. Each song becomes a little shorter. Each color a little less bright. Our souls become inflated with pleasure and fatigued with meaningless struggles of self actualization. The dance of love becomes a dirge of pain as we count each flaw, each mistake, each sorrow as the only truth.
Once we see the horizon approach at the end of our journey, we understand that our fate once again is to be bound in stasis awaiting the spark that will once again set us free. The barrier of no time, no place, no thing is impenetrable and our loss of self and soul inevitable. Is this a curse to be avoided or a natural death and rest to welcome as peace?
Should we seek to break the cycle of destruction and creation or embrace it as the forge in which our souls are tested and refined?
Which way serves the path of love? Which way serves the path of pride? Compassion is the only guide I trust to lead to unification and purpose….
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
